1. If you can’t think of any good ideas of your own, re-write the plot of something you have already read – of course you won’t be able to publish any of it but it will help you to practise writing.
2. You should practise writing everyday – only through practise will you improve.
3. Avoid starting with dialogue.
4. Show, don’t tell.
5. Use sensory details.
6. In Fiction Writing don't use real people.

Why?

It would get the forum to work together to create a list of tips for writers of all levels to help them improve their work. It would also provide a list of things for people to comment on when reading and C&Cing someone's work.

What do I have to do?

If you have a piece of advice or writing tip you'd like to share mention it here and when the thread is created it will be added.
