Harvest Moon Roleplay Empty Re: Harvest Moon Roleplay

Post by Roxanne Sat Oct 25, 2008 4:41 pm

    Spring 1st, Monday, Year 1

Toya walked down the dirt path glancing back over her shoulder every minute or so. It was early that morning, the sun had yet to rise. Toya found it hard to see too far back down the path. Snap. "Aah" Toya gasped as she turned to look down the path. "Who's there?" When no reply came Toya turned and began to run. She wasn't paying much attention to where she was running and so she veered off the dirt path into the trees without realising. When she did realise she kept running. Branches were snagging on her clothes and her hair slowing her down but she kept running.

When Toya finally burst out into the open she wondered where she was. She had been heading towards the docks to get on a boat but now she had no idea where she was. She looked around frantically. The sun was beginning to rise and Toya saw no one. "Okay, it's just me, don't panic.." she whispered as she kept walking and glancing around. She walked on a little further and then the dirt path changed into a paved path. Toya looked up and around her were buildings. People walked past and didn't even glance at Toya. Toya back up to the dirt path. She looked around for another direction other than the one she had come.

One path led to a spring of some sorts with a mine and hot spring near by. The other led up the mountains past a lake. Toya sat on a stump. "What should I do?" she whispered. Toya's stomach gave a loud grumble. "Get food."

    Monday, Spring 1st, Year 1

    “Dear Shay,

I hope all is well with you, and that you have settled into your new place nicely. I hope that you have tried to continue to ‘thwart’ your fears, and that you’ve made new friends as well. Just don’t forget about me! Haha. I’m just kidding, you’d never forget about me, because I’ll keep sending letters!

Anyway, before you send me a letter back [you’d better], I’ll tell you how I’ve been doing. So far, life in a dorm has been good. I’ve already been in college for two years [you should know that, because for those two years you stayed at my place.] Remember James, the guy I had a crush on for the longest time? He finally asked me out!! We’ve been going out for a couple weeks now. He’s the sweetest guy, and he treats me like a princess. Have you ‘hooked up’ with someone yet? If you have, is he nice? Do you like him too?

Anyway, I would write more, but I can’t – I should really be finishing this work I have to do. When you get a chance, call me, ok? I’d love to hear your lovely voice again! Until then!

    Yours truly,

    Ivy – xoxox”

Shayla stared at the letter, her heart heavy. She had lied to her friend. While her friend thought that she was settled into a nice home somewhere in the country – in reality, Shayla was lost. After a few weeks, she still hadn’t found the place that she was going to live at – Mineral Town. Instead, she had been stuck staying at different inns, and spending most of her money because most of the innkeepers ripped her off.

Shay sighed, and stood up from the tree stump she had been sitting on. She was stuck in the middle of the woods with nowhere to go. She took in the scenery around her; a forked path, trees all around, and a small broken sign that lay on the floor. The black haired girl went over to the sign, and attempted to read the faded letters.

“Mineral Town.” she read, squinting her eyes at the faded letters. “Is to the… left.”

She stared at the left path, which was filled with twists and turns. Taking a deep breath, and attempting to square her shoulders, she began down the path.

    *

While walking along the path, it started to rain. It started out with a gentle drizzle, and then into a light rain, and finally an all out storm. Shay ran down the path, stepping in puddles, and getting her bare legs and the ends of her jean capris wet. Her hair was soaking. As was her shirt, and parts of her capris.

She panted heavily as she ran towards the town that was coming into view. She had been running for a while now, and her chest was heaving, and she was having trouble breathing. Shay skidded to a stop in front of a house that had a sign in front of it. It was the Mayor’s house. She knocked on the door, and waited for someone to answer.

“Hello?” came a voice, as the door opened.

A man dressed entirely in red stood there, and looked at her. His eyes brightened.

“You must be Shayla! I’ve heard a lot about you. You’re moving into the house that’s close to the outskirts of town, right?”

“Yes sir, that’s me. And yes sir, that’s correct.” Shayla replied, choosing her words carefully.

“Ah, good good. Come, let me show you to your new house.” The Mayor said, walking out the door. “Harris, close the door behind me please!”

“Sure thing Thomas!” a man dressed in blue said, coming to the door and closing it.

Shayla followed the Mayor all the way to a house that was planted on the far outskirts of town. It was a small pretty thing, which looked safe and cozy. Shay sighed, and took her keys from the Mayor gratefully.

“There is a garden to the left side of the house, and you have a good amount of field if you want to keep animals or plant crops. If you need any help, be sure to ask some of the people in town who also own farms. A new farm owner is moving into the spare farm that’s closer to town soon as well. Anyway, enjoy!” Thomas said, before heading back to his place.

Shayla walked to the door, and opened it. It creaked slightly as the hinges turned for the first time in a while. Shay walked in and turned on the lights, and stared at the empty house. There was almost nothing in it, except for a bed and a small bathroom. She sighed in disappointment, but took of her shoes, and took out some clothing from her bag. She quickly headed into the shower, and when she was finished, she changed into soft pajamas, and fell onto her bed, which was surprisingly soft.

“Well Shay, we’re here. Time for a new start.” she murmured to herself, before closing her eyes and drifting off into a deep sleep.

    ((Yessss long post 8D))

    Spring 1st, Monday, Year 1

Toya headed into the town and looked around for somewhere that sold food that didn't look too busy. Toya spotted the Inn and when she walked in there wasn't a soul around except for the guy behind the bar. Toya ordered a sandwhich and a glass of juice and took it to a table in the far corner but close to the door. She didn't have to pay until she was finished. She took her time with eating. Eventually the man, Doug, went into the back room. There was no one around. She glanced once more around the large room before jumping to her feet and running to the door with the rest of her sandwhich in her hand.

Toya walked quickly to the beach and finished off her sandwhich there. 'Where am I going to stay?' she though. She couldn't go back to the inn or he'd make her pay and she'd have to pay for the room. 'Looks like I'll just been camping outside..' It started to rain so Toya ran for cover underneath the makeshift porch on one of the buildings on the beach. She leant against the door and it suddenly swung open dropping her into a heap on the floor. "Ouch," she moaned. Two men were looking at her almost dumbfounded. One sat behind a large box and Toya resisted the urge to laugh. The other seemed to have been pacing the room. "Umm, I'm Toya," she said as she got up off the floor and faced them both.

The three began to talk and soon Toya was explaining how she had no where to stay and then on the end she lied and said she'd spent the day looking for a job. The one that had been pacing the room, Zack, offered her a job and as soon as Toya found out it would be shipping things she snapped up the oppurtunity. He also said they had a spare bed she could use if she didn't have anywhere else to stay. Witht the rain pouring down it seemed like a good idea to her. For now at least.

    *

That night Toya sat on the bed in the far corner while the other two slept and smiled to herself on how she'd got a job shipping things. It was just perfect and she would be shipping things from a farm. It sounded like free food to Toya.

[Estrella] :: Oh lookie, another long post. Can Shayla claim Rick?

    Tuesday, Spring 2nd, Year 1

Shay woke up early the next morning, and got ready quickly. She wanted to get to know the town a bit better, because after all, she was going to live here. Shay opened the door and was greeted by sunny weather, and a man.

“May I help you?” asked Shay in her quiet voice.

“Good morning ma’am. My name is Zack, and I do the shipping service in town. Have you heard of it?” replied the man.

“No, I’m sorry I haven’t.” replied Shay softly.

“Well, it’s very simple. One just needs to place whatever goods you want to ship into this box here.” said Zack, pointing at the box at the closer end of her field. “Either me or someone else who works for our shipping service will come and pick the items up every day at 5 pm, and pay you for them. We don’t collect goods on Festival days though!”

“I understand, thank you.” the girl replied, smiling.

“And before I leave, I have some items that haven’t been added to your house yet. I would have delivered them earlier, but the Mayor wouldn’t let us have the keys to your home. What we have for you is some chairs, a table, a small TV, a small carpet, some shelves, and finally a clock for your wall.” Zack said; pointing at the items he had brought with him. “You paid for all of these before you came just so you know.”

Shayla nodded, surprised at all the items that had come with the “house” package that the Mayor had persuaded her to buy. Zack began to carry the items into her house, and she watched him, before walking in herself when he asked her where she wanted the table to be placed.

    ----~~*~~----

When Zack and Shayla had finally finished reordering her house, both were worn out. The house looked brilliant though.

“Thank you Mr. Zack, I really do appreciate it.” Shayla said.

“Not a problem. I hope to see you again soon!” he said, before leaving her house and heading back to wherever he came from.

Shayla watched him leave, and then turned to her bag full of her personal items. She emptied the contents on her bed, and began to put them away. When she came to the last item, she felt sad. It was a picture of her and her best friend laughing – something that Shay hadn’t done in a long time. She placed her most treasured item on the little kitchen table, and stared at her work with satisfaction.

Afterwards, Shayla left the house, taking care to lock the door tightly. She headed towards the path towards Mineral Town, excited to see what the town was like. Upon arriving, she walked around the entire town… twice. When she was satisfied, she headed towards Mother Hill where the Mayor had told her she could see some lovely sights.

At Mother Hill, she found herself staring at her reflection in a large lake. She forced a smile at herself, but then set her mouth in a firm line, because her forced smiles looked terrible. After exploring the mountain area, Shay headed back to town, where she ran into a boy around her age, if not a little older.

“I’m sorry!” she exclaimed, standing up and helping him pick up the items that he had dropped.

“Don’t worry about it, it was my fault anyway.” laughed the guy, adjusting his glasses. “I haven’t seen you around before, did you just move in?”

    Shayla nodded. “I’m Shayla.”

“I’m Rick, pleased to meet you.” replied the guy smiling.

    Could I claim Cliff?

    Spring 1st, Monday, Year 1

Pyra glanced around the trees warily, before sitting in the shadows at the edge of a small lake. A rabbit scurried into the bushes behind her, and a cricket chirped somewhere. She sighed lightly and bowed her head, her eyes closing wearily. She had been travelling for three days straight, and she was completely worn out. Her legs complained, telling her that they couldn't possibly carry her into the town nearby and she laid back on the dirt ground, her bandaged arm reaching out into the sun. She watched her finger's shadows dancing on the ground before she rested both arms on her stomach and closed her eyes.

    Spring 2nd, Tuesday, Year 1

Something sharp dug into Pyra's back and she moaned in pain. "Ow." She muttered as her eyes flickered open. She sat up and glanced behind her to see that a twig had poked her in the back while she was sleeping. She muttered colourfully under her breath as she stood up, her bones creaking painfully. She leaned against a tree as she watched a girl wlk down from the hill nearby. Pyra glanced around before following the girls in the shadows. The girl walked back into town, and Pyra smiled slightly as the girl bumbed into a boy. Now that Pyra was in the town, she headed off away from the girl and boy,l who were now talking, and she set off to find an inn.

Toya woke up before the two men. She walked outside and took a deep breath in. Fresh salty ocean air it made her feel slightly more awake and alive. Toya left a note on the door saying that she was going out to explore but she would back on time to pick up the shipment. Toya didn't fancy hanging around Mineral Town that day, instead she headed down a path towards another village.

When Toya arrived at the Town she found that it wasn't a village but a valley, Forget-Me-Not Valley. She instantly passed a farm and she overheard them complaining about a theif. Toya froze until she heard the name Skye. 'Skye eh?' she thought as she walked around. 'It'd be nice to meet this guy.'

Toya suddenly got hungry and headed back towards the farm. Every person who had been working in the field that day were no where to be seen. Toya jumped over the fence pulled up a few Turnips and walked away. After she had eaten her turnips she finished looking around the Valley. She noticed it looked remotely destroyed. 'Hurricane perhaps?' she thought to herself. 'Darn that means it will hit Mineral Town soon...'

She headed back to Mineral Town as it reached 3PM and plotted how she was going to steal some of the shipment.

    Tuesday, Spring 2, Year One

Stella sighed as she lugged her bags up the stairs to her room. When she opened the door and found the room to be empty, she was greatly relieved. So she claimed the bed nearest the window and sat there, just staring out the window aimlessly. She missed her father already, but she knew that leaving her old life behind was the best option. After all, staying in California and living with rumors and lies, versus starting fresh in a place where no one knew her, Stella chose the easy choice. So she wrote down her knew address on a piece of paper along with a short note and sent it down to be mailed to her father promptly.

While Stella wasn't a big fan of small towns, she seemed to agree with this one, for as soon as she stepped outside, the cool breeze wiped away any thoughts of homesickness. So Stella stumbled around aimlessly until she thought of something to: Visit the shops.

    The Market
The market was small and compact, which immediately led Stella to wish to leave. However, she would need to find something to do, so she settled upon walking around in nature. First, she found a lovely spring but once a few people began to show up, Stella quickly left without so much as a "Hello" to any of her new neighbors. Then she found the perfect spot, a secluded mountaintop away from everything and everyone. Stella could see a tiny town on the other side of the mountain, but beyond that, the secluded spot was sans civilization. So there she lay, basking in the son as she awaited something exciting to happen.

    Tuesday, Spring 2nd, Year 1

“So Shayla, I take it you just moved here?” Rick asked, smiling pleasantly.

It took Shayla a moment to register what he had said. She was too busy staring at the ground nervously, unsure of what to say. Shay wasn’t the type to talk much, especially to guys. The one person she would be willing to talk to wasn’t here, so anxiety filled her every sense, blocking some, and making some even more tense.

“Yes, just yesterday in fact.” Shayla replied quietly, twirling a strand of her hair in between her fingers.

“Wow, that is a short time! Have you been around town at all?” the guy exclaimed, surprised. “No wonder I haven’t see you around much at all, it’s because you haven’t been here long!”

“No, not really. I haven’t visited all of town yet. I’ve been to Mother’s Hill, and to the Mayor’s house, but otherwise, not really.” Shayla replied, holding back one of her quiet giggles; the boy was funny, in his own charming little way, something that Shayla didn’t think of or notice often.

“If you wanted to, I could take you around town sometime. I could introduce you to some of the townsfolk.” Rick offered. “I know them all, and they all know me. Plus, we’re basically like one big family around these parts, we’re all very close, and having a new person in town is something that doesn’t happen often, so everyone would love to meet you.”

Shayla blushed. Not many guys every offered to take her around town, or were so bold. She nodded shyly, a tingling sensation creeping up her spine. This was strange, normally when she talked the tingling sensation usually focused on her fingers, which would weave in and out of her hair.

“That would be really nice, thanks. Could we do that tomorrow?” she asked, after thinking of when she was free, or when she would have time.

“Tomorrow sounds good, I’m sure my mom wouldn’t mind if I took a break from work.” Rick replied after a moment’s thought – he was probably checking to see whether he was busy then.

“Oh, you work here?” Shayla asked surprised, she hadn’t thought of that.

“Yeah, my family owns the Poultry Farm that’s close to the old farm that a new farmer is moving into. We sell chickens.” Rich replied brightly once mentioning the word chickens; obviously he was a fan of them.

“Chickens are such funny birds. Chicks are absolutely adorable too.” Shayla said, remember the times when she flipped through Ivy’s photo albums, and saw her holding chicks or being chased by chickens.

“Wow! You really think so? You’re probably the first girl I have ever met who’s said something like that.” Rick said, completely astounded.

Shayla laughed, her eyes sparkling. “I’ve always liked chickens. I’ve never actually seen one in person though, my… troubled past didn’t allow me to do anything outside of home, besides school.” she grew a bit sad after saying that, she had come here to start a new life, not be reminded of her old one.

“Oh, that’s terrible! Well, sometime tomorrow, stop by Poultry Farm. Before showing you around, I’ll show you some of the chickens.” Rick said, a hint of sympathy in his tone.

“That would be lovely, thank you!” Shayla said happily. “Oh dear, I have to go back to my place before Zack comes to pick up my non-existent shipping. I’ll see you tomorrow?”

“Of course. I’ll be waiting!” Rick said, smiling.

Shayla waved goodbye, and left, smiling to herself. She had made a new friend.

    ----~~*~~----

When Shayla had made it home, she quickly searched around her field picking up random grasses and bamboo shoots that were around her entire field, and putting them into her shipping bin. She stopped for a moment, and wiped her forehead. She was feeling very warm, standing under the bright sun. She rolled up her sweater sleeves and set to work again.

It was getting late, and Shayla was getting hungry. Her stomach growled softly, letting her know that she should eat soon. Shayla looked at the charm on her wrist, and flicked it open. A watch lay underneath the silvery colors. It was almost 5 o’ clock. Shay put the last of the items into the shipping bin, and went inside her house. She would head back to town in around half an hour, eat at the inn, and then probably go home and go to sleep. It had been a long day, and she was weary from her travels.

Shay went inside her little house, and took a shower, changing into a pair of jeans and a pretty long sleeved shirt, with droopy sleeves. She tied a brown sash like belt around her waist, and pulled her hair back, looking at herself in the mirror. She didn’t find herself very pretty, but to her that didn’t really matter. What mattered was that she was going to get money in about ten minutes, hopefully enough so that she could buy a quick meal and then come home and sleep.

Toya bit her lip and confidently walked on to the farm, the farm she would be shipping goods for. She went to the shipping box and collected everything. The farmer was no where in sight. Toya could have easily made a run for it with everything and told Zack she hadn't shipped anything. Toya counted out the total for everything and then deducted two bamboo shoots and a grass from the total money she would be giving to the farmer. She put the two bamboo shoots and the grass in her bag and then put the rest into the basket she aquired from Zack for shipping. She slipped the incorrect amount of money under the door of the house and dashed off smiling to herself. As soon as she had rounded the corner she pulled out the bamboo shoot and began to nibble on it as she made her way to the beach hut. When Toya reached Zack's house the door was locked. She panicked for a moment and she heard muffled footsteps behind her. She spun around but no one was there. She bit her lip and turned back to the door.

"Toya, would you get inside already."
Won demanded ushering her inside. Toya gave a quick look back over her shoulder as she walked in. "Zack is just gathering his shipments from the supermarket and the other farms." Won explained as he took his usual seat behind his cardboard box. Toya nodded and set the shipping basket down in the middle of the room. Won began to whistle to himself absent minded as he gazed at the ceiling without much interest. Toya shuffled over to her makeshift bed and fished out the bamboo shoot and the grass from her bag stuffing them under her pillow.

Content, she lay back on her bed and closed her eyes. What seemed like minutes later, but happened to be a couple of hours later, Zack called across the room. "Anyone hungry?" Toya sat up and her stomach growled. She nodded. Zack cooked up a quick scrambled eggs for each of them and they sat around Won's cardboard box to eat. Once Toya had finished, she took her plate to the sink and placed it in the bottom. Zack had insisted that Won wash up after he had finished eating so she didn't make any attempt to wash the plate. She quickly gave Zack the left over money from the shipment to Zack minus 100G which she left in her back pocket. "You'll get paid on Friday, Toya, unless you need the money sooner?" he said as she shuffled back to her bed seemingly uneasy.

"No, no Friday is just fine,"
she said quickly and she dived into her bed without changing.

The morning was foggy out at sea and it didn't look like the fog would clear up until a port was in sight. Will stood up and saw an island on the horizon which slowly grew closer and closer. The boat finally docked and Will stepped off the boat onto the island. It was Spring and the last of the Winter snows had melted and the sun was finally shining again. The early hours of the morning were quiet as Will walked through the streets of this place called Waffle Town.

No one else was around at the moment, it seemed like everyone else was sleeping. The Inn was still closed so Will decided to head into the nearby valley and do some fishing instead. There was a lake here and a sign that said Maple Lake District. He cast out the fishing line and sat under a tree waiting for a fish to bit.

Was Will's family here on this island? Are they even still alive? Only time would tell...

Finally the sun rose into the sky and people were now out and walking around. Will reeled in his line and began to walk around and finally came to a place called Ganache Mine District and then Brownie Ranch. Brownie Ranch seemed to be one of the more interested places on the island and this was bound to be where Will would spend most of his time. There was a loud sound in the air as a horse suddenly ran up to Will and neighed loudly. Will knew that the horse most likely had run away from the barn so he tooks the reins on the horse and walked it up the hill back to the barn to see if anyone else was there.

Stella loved the sun because it made her feel so warm. And the sun in this particularly calming and healing. Stella felt so at home that it made her miss her dad less than she had since she left. However, someone quickly interrupted her silence by standing in her sunlight.

"You're blocking my sun," she growled without opening her eyes.

"Oh, that your's? Sorry, I didn't see the tag hanging off of it," a man's voice commented sarcastically.

Stella tore open her eyes and glared at the man who said this. His brown and blonde hair fell in layers in front of his eyes but the golden color in them still shone through. He smirked as she looked at him and his smile was dazzling. But what most intrigued Stella was the fact that this guy had made such a terrible first impression.

"What, you like what you see?" the guy commented smugly and brushed the hair out of his eyes. "I'm Ethan and you must be the new heartbreaker," Ethan noted as he checked out Stella's appearance. He smirked and offered her a hand which she scornfully rejected and got up on her own.

"First off, I'm not candy, so stop looking at me like I'm sweet and delicious because I'm far from it. Secondly, Ethan, I'm Stella, not a heartbreaker and I strongly recommend backing up a few feet," Stella said brashly as she stared him down. He stood his ground and his smile grew wider, "A fighter, eh? That's alright, you'll learn to love me," he said and gave her one last smile before departing down the hill.

Stella stared angrily at Ethan as he walked away, she had only been in town a few hours and she already hated someone. It was high school all over again.

    Wednesday, Spring 3rd, Year 1

The moment Toya woke up that morning she grabbed what she needed in a hurry and stumbled out the door. She'd noticed a map of Mineral Town and the surrounding area stuck to Zack's notice board and figured he wouldn't mind if she borrowed it for a while. She pulled the scrunched up map out of her pocket and took a look at it. She was set on going back to Forget-Me-Not Valley to find this other thief. But she scribbled on the palm of her hand the other places she wanted to visit and in what order.

She began to run down the path feeling a little more free than usual. The wind blowing through her hair was a nice feeling and the chill wasn't so bad either. She reached Forget-Me-Not Valley a lot sooner than she had yesterday. She wandered around again before realising she didn't even know who she was looking for apart from his name, Skye, and what he was, a thief.

She saw someone standing nearby and she edged closer not feeling so great about herself at all. "Umm, excuse me do you think you could tell me some more about this thief Skye?" He gave her a funny look. "I've been having some trouble with him and want to know if I can help stop him," she lied.

"Well he's the thief in Forget-Me-Not Valley and no one has ever managed to catch him. Silver hair and eyes. He's got one wicked look and if he does it most find they can't move. It's odd really. He's never in the Valley during the day. If you want to find him you'll have to stay up until it gets dark." Toya nodded and thanked him before hurrying off.

"Dang, I'll have to wait until night fall but I'm supposed to be collecting that shipment..."
Toya pondered her options for a moment and then headed back towards Mineral Town a little down.

Pyra glanced around as she walked out of the village square. Whenever she passed someone, they seemed to look at her oddly, before carrying on with there own buissiness. She sighed as she looked ahead at a sign pointing to an inn on her right. She looked up at the building, before pushing the door open. A man was stood behind a counter, and a red-headed girl was heading up the stairs. Pyra looked down, scratching her arm under her bandage as she approached the desk.

"May I help you?" The man asked. Pyra nodded and put her hands into her pockets.

"This is the inn, right?" She asked. The man nodded. "I'd like to rent a room... if that's alright..." She rubbed the back of her neck.

"Of course. My name is Doug, and I own this inn." Pyra nodded and pulled 500G, placing it on the counter.

"Thank you." Pyra smiled as Doug put the money in the cash register.
A little while later Pyra was sat on the bed in her new rented room as she unpacked the few clothes she had in her travel bag.
She glanced around the bare room, running her hand through her hair before standing and heading to the window were she could see a few people walking around the town. She sighed before turning back to the bed and laying down, watching the sun set out of her window.

Stella was slow to find the next thing to do in town. She had seen everything so far and decided that Mother's Hill, the Spring and the Mines were her favorite places. Of course, when Ethan was there she abruptly left, but when night fell on the peaceful town Stella decided it was finally time to go eat and her stomach eagerly agreed.

    The Inn

"Hello, you're Stella, right?" the man who owned the inn asked kindly. He had bright orange hair and grey eyes from which a sorrowed kindness shone through. Stella nodded reluctantly and the man who introduced himself as Doug began to introduce her to everyone else. Not seeing Ethan anywhere, Stella complied with the man and allowed herself to be escorted around the first floor of the inn.

"And the woman at the bar is Karen, boy can she store 'em," Doug said with a laugh.

"If you need anything I'll be behind the counter," he mentioned before walking away, leaving Stella to wander aimlessly. She found a table that seemed innocent enough, a man named Grey and a girl named Ann sat talking sociably although there seemed to be more conversation on Ann's side then Grey's. Stella assumed that she could give short answers and Ann would supplement the majority of the conversation.

"Hi, I'm---" Stella began but was quickly interrupted by Ann.

"Stella, right. Yeah I heard you moved from the big city, was it interesting there? I myself love small towns but did you like the city? Was it noisy, I'll bet it was noisy? And how about crowds, was it crowded..." Ann continued to trail on with Stella interrupting every now and then with a yes or a no. Grey just stared into space aimlessly, he seemed to be more of a quiet one also.

After a very long conversation, if it could be called that, from Ann, Stella was more than ready to sleep. So she lay on the comfy bed upstairs and quickly dozed off into a world where there was lots of suspense and action, and no Ethan.

Toya repeated today what she had done the day before. Once she had delivered the remaining items of the shipment to Zack she walked back towards Forget-Me-Not Valley. As she reached the Valley the sun began to set. The air became much cooler and instead of keeping her jacket on she took it off and let the chill beat her arms as she ran towards the beach. The salty air hit her as soon as her foot came into contact with the sand. She breathed in deeply and span around a few times with her arms extended outwards. Toya loved it.

She ran further down the beach towards the water flicking off her shoes in the process. Toya had never felt so free. The possibility of someone watching her or following her never entered her mind even as people from the Valley came and went. Not one cared for her strange behaviour or why she was there. They all seemed pleased that she was there and enjoying herself. Toya sighed as she dipped her feet into the cold water and then waded up until her knees.

She wondered what Zack and Won would be doing and then pushed them from her mind. She began to think of this other thief when she heard a small cough behind her. A tall man stood there with longer than average silver hair and stunning silver/gray eyes. She couldn't believe it. She hadn't had to do any looking or searching he had found her.

"You seem to be enjoying yourself..."
he muttered as a smirk appeared on his face. Toya laughed.

"Of course I am," she laughed loudly. "A thief always enjoys themselves.." she said much quiter giving him an odd sideways glance before she began to laugh at his reaction. He merely raised an eyebrow at her wondering what on earth the crazy girl standing in front of him was on about. He then realised what she was referring to and gave a little chuckle.

    "You're a thief too, huh?"
he asked. Toya nodded. "Come with me tonight?" Toya shook her head.

"I have to get home soon before I get locked out," she explained. "Some other time.."

"What's your name?" he asked realising he had forgotten to ask. She told him her name and explained he knew his while she put her shoes back on. Skye shrugged no longer amused by her behaviour. It was dark now and Toya began to head back. As the night air became even chillier she put her jacket back on and began to run back to Mineral Town. Not long after she had left Skye he had dissapeared presumably off to steal from someone's house.

Toya reached the beach and tried the door. She panicked when she found it locked. A pin was stuck in the door but whatever had been attatched to it had blown away. "Oh crumbs," she muttered. She paced the beach a little when she heard a small laugh behind her. She spun around but no one was there. She ran back to the door and shook it violently. "Zack," she yelled and he threw the door open while she was still holding on to the handle.

"The note explained the key was on the wood over there," he yawned. Toya pointed to the pin in the door lacking a note and he mouthed an 'Oh' before letting her in. Not another word was spoken. She changed quickly and jumped into her bed. She had finally met another thief out in the countryside. She wasn't alone. She felt even happier than she had earlier when she had met the thief. She drifted off to sleep slowly that night with the days events running through her head.

Miranda was starting to get seasick. She had been on the boat since yesterday morning and it was getting late in the afternoon. She wanted deperately to get off the boat and relief flooded into her when she saw an island.

"That's Waffle Island" the captain explained to her.

"My new home" Miranda quietly said to herself.

When the boat landed, the captain helped Miranda with her things, as they headed to the inn.
The captain left after Miranda got a room. She left her things and went to explore the island.

Stella awoke with a sigh the next morning. She stretched out her muscles before lazily getting out of bed. Then she proceeded to head downstairs and get some breakfast.

"mornin' Stella. Sleep well?" Doug asked kindly. Stella nodded and grabbed a piece of toast, which she ate quickly before turning back to Doug.

"Do you think...is there anywhere that I can get a job?" she asked softly.

"Yeah, we need another server. I just hired one but I'm sure he could use some help. You wanna start today, he can probably train you," Doug said. He smiled at Stella as she nodded, she was sure that this server couldn't be that bad.

After getting her job, Stella looked at her watch. She could probably stop at the beach and check out the merchant that lived there.

    Wednesday, Spring 3rd, Year 1

Shayla woke up at around 9 am that morning, still tired from the night before. The inn keeper's daughter, Ann, had befriended Shay and made her stay until sometime around 11 pm, which was later than usual for Shay, who liked to go to bed around an hour earlier.

But then again, Shay didn't really complain, because she had some fun with Ann that night. After receiving the 'grand tour' from the redhead, she had gotten a discount on the absolutely delcious food, and then she had met up with another villager named Cliff, who was a yougn man with brown hair that was pulled back into a ponytail. Cliff was quite shy, but with a little coaxing from Ann, he, Shay, and Ann spent most of the night chit chatting away. Shayla had a good time, and enjoyed the evening.

Smiling at the memories, Shay rolled out of bed and went into her small bathroom to get dressed for the day. She was meeting the one young man that she had met the other day, Rick, and he was going to give her a tour of the town, which she was really looking forward to. It wasn't often that someone actually offered to do something for her, but this town was quite different.

Shay went outside after getting ready and eating a small breakfast, to get the different items that lay sprawled across her medium sized plot of land behind her house, to put in her shipping bin, before heading out towards Poultry Farm, where Rick said he would be waiting. Making it there with just enough time to spare, Shay was greeted by Rick, and a pink haired girl around Shay's age, who smiled brightly at her.

"Shayla! I'm glad you could come. I want you to meet my sister, Popuri. She helps me and my mom run the farm." Rick said, motioning towards his sister.

"Hi." Shayla said shyly, flashing a small smile.

"Hi there, can I call you Shay?" Popuri asked brightly, a smile plastered across her face.

"Sure." Shay replied, nodding her head.

"Shay, I promised that I would show you the chicks right? They're over here." Rick said, changing the subject and pointing in the direction of a small barn like thing.

The two girls followed the young man into the small place, and Shay marveled at the sight before her. A dozen little yellow puffballs ran around, squeaking. Some ran into Shay's arms, and others ran straight for Rick and Popuri, who were both laughing in spite of themselves.

After about fifteen minutes, the trio left the barn, the chicks nestled safely inside of hay nests that were quite warm and cozy. Shay was literally glowing with happiness. Rick smiled at her expression, and then took her inside his place, where he introduced her to his mother, Lillia.

"Hi, Lillia." Shay said happily, smililng at Rick's mother politely.

"Hello Shay, it's nice to see a new friend for Rick and Popuri. I hope you enjoy your stay in Mineral Town." the pink haired woman replied, smiling sweetly.

"Thank you, I will." was Shay's quiet reply.

"Shay, ready for the tour?" asked Rick, directing Shayla's attention towards him.

She nodded, and after a brief goodbye, the two left the house. Shay was excited. It was time for her to see the town in detail.

    The Beach

Once at the beach, Stella walked nervously up to the house where the merchant lived. She lifted her hand to knock when a voice startled her.

"Nobody's there. Zach is out on errands and the merchant is flirting with Karen. There's a new girl who moved in there, but she isn't there, either," Ethan's voice remarked casually.

Stella whipped around, ferocity glimmering in her eyes.

"What. Is. Your. Problem!?" she exclaimed. "Do you have a God Complex that makes you think everyone likes you, or are you really just that dumb? I don't want to talk to you, and while stalking me may seem funny to you, it won't be funny when I beat the *** out of you!" Stella said angrily. She took a step towards Ethan, expecting him to take a step back, but instead he smiled cockily.

"You? You are tiny. You are the size of my baby sister. You have tiny, ineffectual fists. I doubt you could be the *** out of me, and even so, I could take it. Besides, anyone who cares as much as you do obviously likes me," Ethan said smartly and sat down on the pier.

"OK, really? You think I like you? You are a cocky, ignorant, self-centered jerk who thinks everyone owes something to you. I am a smart, pretty person who normally doesn't dislike someone so quickly, but you are easy to dislike. I can't bring myself to hate you but I really just wish you would leave me alone," Stella commented rudely.

Ethan gestured to pier, beckoning her to sit. She sat about a foot away from him, rolled up the legs of her jeans, took off her socks and shoes and waded her feet into the cool water.

"I'm sorry we got off to a bad start. I realize I can be a little, rude, but I mean well. Besides, I'm the type of guy you have to know to love," Ethan said politely, adding a touch of sarcasm to the last line.

Stella sighed, "I have to go," she said quickly and abruptly left. She couldn't help but look back and see Ethan sadly looking at his own reflection in the water.

Toya woke up the following morning to the smell of eggs and bacon. "Good morning Zack," she yanwed as she sat at the makeshift table. "I'm going to be gone all night tonight so don't leave the key out for me." Zack nodded and handed out breakfast.

Once they had all finished Toya washed up and then went to pack a bag of things. She made sure there was plenty of room within the bag even with everything packed. Toya put her hair up and washed her face before she headed towards the door. Just as she was about to open the door there was a slight knock on the door. Toya opened the door and looked warily at the girl in front of her. "Can I help you?"

Stella awoke the next morning and thought about what happened the day before. She couldn't help but wish that Ethan wouldn't have said anything at all, she didn't want to get to know him. However, she was still curious as to who he really was. She even missed work because of him; she told Doug she had a stomach-ache just to get out of working with him.

Maybe I'll go see if Won's there today, she thought to herself.

    The Beach

Thankfully, Ethan wasn't at the beach when she arrived. She quickly walked up to the beachside house and knocked. When the door was opened, a small girl, slightly older than Stella stared at her.

"Can I help you?" the girl asked.

"Yes, I was wondering if Won the merchant was here, I was hoping to see what he has in stock," Stella asked cautiously. She noticed that both of them shared the same look of curiousity and caution. Stella admired someone who was as careful as she.

Toya raised an eyebrow. She eyed the girl in the doorway for a moment or two before turning on her heel to face Won. "There's someone here to see your stock Won," she said quite bluntly uncomfortable with the newcomer at the place whilst she was there. Won nodded before scurring behind his box. Toya invited the woman inside. Toya, after closing the door behind the woman, leant against the wall listening to the conversation and watching the girl with curiosity. The woman seemed almost as cautious as Toya and it intrigued her. Having lived with only thieves before moving to Mineral Town she became to think that it was only natural of thieves to be so cautious.

    "Welcome,"
Won said cheerily. "I'm Won. That is Zack and Toya." Won gave a quick wave of his hand towards Zack and Toya before bringing the focus of the conversation back over to him, her and his stock.

Toya annoyingly uncomfortable with the woman moved towards the door. "If you need me I'll be in Forget-Me-Not Valley apart from when I'm doing the shipping," Toya told Zack as she shut the door quite violently behind her.

Stella admired the simplistic interior of the cabin, before stepping towards Won.

"Hi, I'm Stella. I was looking for some vegetable seeds, do you have any?" She asked.

Won grinned greedily, "Why yes, I have cabbage seeds. 500g."

Stella sighed, knowing that she probably wouldn't get a better price anywhere. She bought one packet, and thanked Won before leaving. She needed to get back to train the new waiter anyway.

    Inn

Stella rushed into the inn, pulling her sleek, blonde hair into a ponytail before heading towards the kitchen. Once inside, her jaw dropped to the floor, her heart ceased to beat, and everything pleasant and good about her life was swept from her mind.

Ethan was standing next to Doug, discussing amicably the rules of the Inn.

"YOu...you're the new server?" she choked out.

Ethan turned around, smiled, and nodded, "Yep!" He exclaimed gleefully.

Stella took a deep breath. She could do this, she had to. So she put aside her contempt for Ethan and turned to Doug.

"What do you need me to show him?" She asked.

Doug explained that Ethan needed to learn customer rules, and the best way to do so was showing. So while Stella waited on each table, Ethan followed her like a lost dog, checking her out as she walked.

When their shifts were finally over, Stella was more than ready to head to bed, but Ethan wouldn't give up.

"Go out with me," Ethan said.

    "What?!"

"C'mon, I like you, you will like me, so go out with me and you can start to like me," Ethan said, his eyes shining.

"No! Even if I did like you, we work together, and I have a rule, I don't date co-workers," she said curtly.

Ethan frowned, "C'mon, just drinks. I promise I won't hit on you, it can be like a friendly date," he tried convincingly.

    "I don't drink."

"No wonder you're so tense. Dinner?"

    "I don't eat, either."

    "I highly doubt that."

"Fine. Seven O'Clock, tomorrow at Blue Bar."

    "Thought you didn't drink?"

"Who said I was going to drink?"

Ethan laughed and nodded, "Seven it is." He left quickly, a little more spring in his step than he had before. Stella was very curious about this, she didn't understand how he could actually like her, especially when she had been so mean to him.

    Thursday, Spring 4th, Year 1

Toya didn't rush her way to Forget-Me-Not Valley that morning - she simply strolled along at a leisurely pace knowing that Skye wouldn't appear until nightfall. As she walked, she tried conving herself that Zack and Won would never find out about her being a thief. As she walked into the Valley she began panicking - she couldn't steal with Skye that night. She was convinced they would find out if she did. Sge was so caught up in her thoughts that when she glanced around and saw someone walking a few steps behind her that she screamed. "I didn't mean to! I wasn't going to honest!" she yelled before running away to a quiet spot. The man that had been walking behind her, but not following her, stared after her completely and utterly confused and a little shocked.

The sun was setting before anyone found Toya sitting hidden between the trees around the Goddess Pond hugging her knees and breathing heavuly while she thought to herself. She heard him approach but she didn't realise who was there because she didn't bother taking her eyes of the pond. "I didn't do it!" she shrieked getting to her feet. "Who told you!?"

"Toya, no one told me anything. You didn't do what?" he said casually trying not to get worked up over the screaming woman in his face. Toya took a good look at him standing there before looking back at the pond.

"Nothing, it doesn't matter," she lied. Skye didn't want to argue with her over it and so he simply dismissed it.

"Are you coming tonight?" he asked. Toya nodded hesitantly and Skye led the way. It took a few moments, but eventualy Toya followed him - she had managed to convince her they would never find out.
