Music: The Good and the Bad

We've all heard many different forms of music ranging from country to pop and from classical to rap. But here's the univeral question, "What makes music good?" So basically discuss:

• What's your favorite type of music
  
• What do you look for in a song?
  
• What's your favorite singer/band?

Personally, I like techno and pop music. Mostly from the group Caramell (A Swedish Techno/Pop group) but I also like Cascada and a few other artists.

I personally will listen to most any music, it's the lyrics that matter to me. Lots of people where I live tend to only choose a song based on popularity or that it sounds good, but I've always liked listening to the lyrics and seeing if I can connect them to life. If a song isn't completely random, it's usually good. For example, "Freckles" by Natasha Bedingfield is about loving yourself and just being who you are. A great song, and it really makes me feel good. I just love that lyrics can be so powerful, not just how the beat of the song is.

Personally, I'm with Christina, I've loved almost everything I've ever listened to. I will go through phases of like one type more than the other though.

Mainly meaning (I think that's basically what Christina said). If the song means something to me or how my life is going I'll like it more than a song without meaning or doesn't mean too much to me.

My favourite singer has always been Amy Studt her song "Just A Little Girl" and "Misfit" mean a lot to me. I also like Savage Garden their songs often make me think about things. =D

I love many different types but i really like Alternative or anything different and one of a kind like.
I always try to find songs with deep lyrics adn a good rythum.
My favorte Bands/Singers are Panic! at the Disco, avril lavigne, and death cub for cutie.
My top 3 songs are Lair lair by taking back sunday, Everytime we touch by Cascada, and crazy on you by Heart.
I love any type of rock. pretty much anything but rap. but even some rap I like.
