It's different for people. Some names can go many ways.

Re: General Off-Topic Discussion
not proper names. you can only pronounce them one way. in the way they're supposed to. you can call a German name with a Australian accent, that would be rude to that person.

Re: General Off-Topic Discussion
Yeah, but sometimes it's difficult. Especially with last names, I know that some people have difficulty pronouncing mine. I don't blame them though, because if you weren't born in the country it's hard to pronounce the name properly.

Re: General Off-Topic Discussion
Not right Sam, some proper nouns are pronounced differently. Such as Jose, it could be pronounced ho-se or J-^o-see. For some reason hispanic people always pronounce my name wrong. (Probably cause the H and J are different in Spanish)

Re: General Off-Topic Discussion
Thank you for the good luck Subaru, hopefully it works. You too Amy.
My user name is Spanish, and for those of you that don't speak Spanish, you pronounce it like this:
Estrella > Es-tre-sha
=D
And my IRL name:
Sarvani > Sar-vaa-nee
Yeah. My IRL name gets complicated to pronounce once you add all that Indian or German stuff to it, so I won't go into detail. >___<

That's not how you even pronounce it in Spanish. >_< Es-tre-ya That's the Spanish pronunciation. The double L's make the Y sound.
No one ever messes up my name really. I wish I had an uncommon name for people to mess up. Then I can nag them when they get it wrong. >=D
Edit: I just realized Estrella is spanish for Star. >_<

Re: General Off-Topic Discussion
You just realized that? XD
Be happy with simple names. I wish I had one.
No one ever pronounces Alexandra right. They pronounce it with an x sound. It annoys me greatly.
Hey, is it raining where everyone else lives? It's raining here, but I wish it would snow.
But, you don't get snow when you're so far south.........

When you're so far south?
you're speaking to someone who lives at the bottom-most inhabited part of the Southern-Hemisphere, the last time it snowed here, it was 2 years ago, after 10 years before that and it lasted for about 2 hours.[/rant]
Sorry guys, I needed to vent, because it's so damn hot here.

About eleven miles away from where I live is snowing. Of course, my mom won't let my family go there... =/

Yes I know you live in the middle of nowhere Subaru(considering where I live)
But last time it snowed where I live it was........ 2000?
And the time before was right before I was born.(But my parents can't tell me about that because we were living in Florida.....)
Guise, Guise! I can't wait till after Christmas!!!

You just realized that? :L And that's not true actually. Depending on what dialect of Spanish you learned. I pronounce it the Argentinian way, when the double l's make an SH sound. ^~^
The last time it snowed for me was today, when it snowed almost a foot in total. XD
