Harry Potter Roleplay Empty Harry Potter Roleplay

Post by Christina Mon Oct 27, 2008 9:35 pm

Well then, I'm sure everyone has heard of Harry Potter, so let's just dive right in!

    [PLOT]
This roleplay dates twenty years after Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and Harry Potter were at Hogwarts, precisely seven years after the death of Lord Voldemort. Your character is a student or staff member at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. While all is much more peaceful than when Voldemort was alive, strange deaths have been occurring lately and many are starting to become worried. Of course, as a Hogwarts attendee, you are safe, but panic will grow throughout the roleplay as evil uprisings will try to complete Lord Voldemort's plan to rid the world of muggles and non-pure-blood wizards.

    [RULES]
    1. Please do not God-Mod, in other words, do not give yourself infinite fame and wealth or any extreme skill, such as parslemouth.

    2. Do not kill off a character without permission.

    3. Please post on-topic posts only and use either the roleplay discussion and or off-topic discussion for OOC (Out of Character) posts.

    4. Regarding houses, please use the following randomized coding to sort you into a house:
    Code:
    [rand]4[/rand]

When you post that into your post, you will get put into a house. The numbers correspond to each house:
    1. Gryffindor
    2. Ravenclaw
    3. Slytherin
    4. Hufflepuff

    EXAMPLE:
    Random number (1,4) : 3

This will prevent people from all choosing Gryffindor or Slytherin. Descriptions of each house can be found in the character thread of this forum.

    5. Regarding posting, unless two people have posted in between your post or it has been at least four hours since one person posted after you, do not post. Double-posting is strictly against the rules, since this would cause one person to have quite a few posts racked up if there aren't very many active participants in the roleplay.

    6. Since once the Harry Potter Roleplay gets started, it is hard for new members to join, a new rule will be put into effect. When you join the roleplay after the sorting has already begun, you may post a brief summary of how your character got sorted along with your character. This condition only applies if you begin after the roleplay has begun.

    7. *Note: Everyone is going to start off as a first year to prevent God-modding, since fifth years and on have abilities that someone who chooses to be a first year may not have. This will also make it easier for relationships to start between roleplayers, since all the characters will have a class or two together.

    8. Have tons of fun! I know that there are lots of Harry Potter fans out there, so just enjoy the roleplay, but don't follow too strictly to the Harry Potter plot.

NOTE: Do not make your character related to Harry Potter, Hermoine Granger, or any other character from the books Wink

Willow sleepily jumped down the stairs and picked up the post as she headed into the front room. She tossed any mail not addressed to her on to a small table near the fire. She had tossed almost every letter on to the table and in frustration she threw the remaining three on to the table without even glancing at them. She was heading out of the room into the kitchen when she quickly went back to the table and picked up the letter perched on the very top.

    Miss Willow Sariah.

Willow was excited. The only letters she ever recieved were ones from the bank or from her school and they were usually in type format, very formal. This had her name written on the front in hand. 'Who could it possibly be from?' she thought as she turned it over to see a seal with a H imprinted into it on the back. She slid her finger under the flap and opened it carefully.

    **
    Dear Miss Sariah,

We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Withcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all neccessary book and equipment.

Term begins on the 1st of September. We await your owl no later than the 31st of July.

    Yours sincerely,

    Minerva McGonagall
    Headmistress

Willow stared at the letter slightly confused. She walked into the kitchen slowly with the letter so close to her face it rubbed her nose. "Do you think this is a practical joke, taid?" Her grandfather slipped the letter from her hand and examined it. He shook his head.

"It doesn't seem to be, kiddo. I remember when one of my old friends came back from Hogwarts. I tried to force him to tell me what it was all about but he never spilt a word to me. Witches and Wizards. Well, it was no wonder, he must have thought I'd think he was crazy..." he grandfather went on a little as he got back to making their breakfast.

"But where do I get all of this stuff?" she muttered more to herself than anyone else as she took a seat around the breakfast bar. Willow had a mixture of feelings at that point in time - confusion, excitement and hunger.

"Somewhere in London if I remember correctly," he sighed almost as if he was day dreaming.

"Nain, can we go to London soon?!" she called from the kitchen.

"Of course dear," laughed her aunt from the top of the stairs.

** An edited version from the first book.

OOC: Roxanne, since this occurs after HP books, I think McGonagall would probably be headmistress. Either that or a new person Razz

Isabella excitedly combed through her hair with her fingers as she looked at the letter and read it one more time.

    Dear Isabella,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected to join Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You begin schooling on the 1st of September.

Enclosed is the list of books and supplies you will need as a first year.

    Sincerely,
    Minerva McGonagall
    Headmistress

She then folded the letter as her mom excitedly took her hand.

"Oh dear, I am so glad! I absolutely cannot wait, we must get you and owl! Oh and let's not forget all these supplies, oh darling I cannot wait for you to start, you will love Hogwarts, I just know it!" Her mom said excitedly. The two were quite similar in most respects, but one feature differed. While Isabella's hair was brown and thin, her mother looked like a goddess, she had long strawberry blonde hair that curled nicely down to her mid-section and a perfect body. Isabella had gotten her mom's body and face but her dad's unmanageable hair.

"Mum, I want the perfect owl," Isabella announced proudly.

"Of course Bella!" her mother said cheefully and gave her another hug. Isabella was counting and this was now the sixth hug she had received since her letter came in the mail. However, Isabella had her doubts, while her mother had been a strong Gryffindor, Isabella feared that she may not make the cut into that particular house.

Lupa rubbed her eyes and sat up in her bed, her light brown hair falling into her vision. She ran her hand through her hair as she swung her legs off of the matteress and blinked blearily.
"Stupid Owls... This isn't my Mum's room..." She muttered under her breath as she flung the window open, shivering as the cold air swept into her room. The owl squawked and jumped away from her as she reached out to take the letter from it.
"Look, just drop it." She told the owl, upset that yet another animal would not go near her. The barn owl dropped it obediently, then flew off in a flurry of feathers, obviously in a rush to get away. Lupa sighed and closed the window so that her room wouldn't lose all of it's heat. She looked down at the letter and stared. Why did it have her name on it? She shrugged, before turning it around and breaking the wax seal on the back with a crest stamped into it.
She pulled out the crumpled parchment and scanned it through. After reading it once, it slipped from her grasp and floated to the floor like a feather.
    'Dear Miss Lucretia,

We are pleased to imform you that you are offered a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Enclosed with this letter is a list of the nessersary equipment and uniform.
The term begins on 1st of September, and students are required to arrive on the Hogwarts Express, which will be leaving from Platform 9 3/4 at 11:00am.

    Sincerely
    Minerva McGonagall
    Headmistress

Lupa stared at the letter. How could she of all people have a chance to go to Hogwarts? Especially with her condition, surely it would be endangering the other students there. She picked up the envelope, her hand strembling slightly as she pulled out the parchment with the list of equipment and uniform on. Grabbing the letter off of the floor, she walked into the kitchen where her Mum was making breakfast.
"M-mum, look at this..." She said quietly, handing her mother the letter, who looked at it curiously. "Mum, I can't go can I? I'll be endangering the others kids..." Lupa looked down at the floor.
"Sweetie, they would know about your condition if they sent you the letter. We'll go to London soon to get your supplies, okay?" Her mum smiled. Lupa looked up at her and nodded.
"Sure. Can I have some toast?" She smiled slightly as she clised the bread.

Cameron rushed down for breakfast, not because he was hungry, ut mostly because today was that day. He was getting his first letter from Hogwarts, the most historic one. But even through breakfast, it didn't come. His mother tried to cheer him up, "Don't worry, it'll come soon."

He skulked back to his room and grabbed his broom. What was the point of this if he wasn't going to be able to play for a team. He walked outside and mounted his brrom. He grabbed the Quaffle that his parents had bought him and started to practise. he wasn't doing well, other things were on his mind. He flew to catch the Quaffle that he had just thron throught the left hoop and missed. instead, he had caught an owl that had been flying in his direction.

"YES!" he cried, as he saw the green "Grant, Cameron" and the Hogwarts crest, and he tore open the envelope.

    Dear Mr Grant

We are pleased to imform you that you are offered a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Enclosed with this letter is a list of the nessersary equipment and uniform.
The term begins on 1st of September, and students are required to arrive on the Hogwarts Express, which will be leaving from Platform 9 3/4 at 11:00am.

    Sincerely
    Minerva McGonagall
    Headmistress

He pored over the the list of equipment and crossed off everything he already had. Afterwards, he walked back into the house and told his parents. "Oh, Cameron. i just knew that you'd get in. Another slytherin, I hope?" He didn't care what house he was in, because he was just going at all. His mother then said, "Alright then, let's head to Diagon Alley, shall we? We'll take Floo Powder."

He stepped into the fireplace and, happily, said, "Diagon Alley" and disappeared into the emerald flames.

Alexandra was sitting quietly, contemplating on how her life could get better, or more likely, worse.
She was sitting in the same place for that past hour, since 5:45 to be exact, in not the safest place for an eleven-year-old.
The roof of her foster familys victorian house.
In a couple of minutes, Alexandra's foster mom would come in and tell her to get up. So Alexandra decided to go back into her room.
As she was climbing back into her room, she saw the post man walking towards the mailbox and Kylie(the FS) running down the walk, to collect the post.
Right as Alexandra closed her window, FM knocked and came in.
"Oh good you're up, time for breackfast." Fm told her, then retreated from the room.
Alexandra quickly followed her and arrived in the kitchen with whispers bouncing off the wall.
She looked at everyone's face and FD announced; "Theres a letter for you, Alexandra."
Alexandra walked towards the counter and picked up the white envelope.
It had a funny looking crest on it and it was indeed addressed to her.

    Dear Miss Roseily,

We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Withcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all neccessary book and equipment.

Term begins on the 1st of September. We await your owl no later than the 31st of July.

    Yours sincerely,

    Minerva McGonagall
    Headmistress

Alexandra read and reread the letter several times and by the time she was done, she was violently shaking.
"Was does it say?" FM asked.
Alexandra handed it to the woman and took a seat. The shaking subsided.
FM screamed, dropped the letter, and backed away from Alexandra.
"What's the matter, Danniella?" Fm asked.
    "She's a- She's a-" Fm stuttered.
"Spit it out Mom!" Kylie shouted, flipping her hair back.
"She's a witch........" FM muttered, loud enough for everyone to hear.
Everyone stared at Alexandra and a silence enveloped the room.
Alexandra stood up and walked over to the evelope.
She took out the list of supplies and another paper slipped to the floor.
Juliet(little FS) picked it up and read out loud:
"'Due to living with a muggle family, just say the word and a witch or wizard will come to help you obtain the proper items you'll need.'
What does that mean? Huh mama?".
Alexandra took the paper from her little FS and read it over.
"Just say the word?, What word?" Alexandra wondered aloud.
At that moment the doorbell rung.
Everyone filed into the hall as FD opened the door.
There stood a stange looking man with a cloak and a pointed hat.
"Hello." THe man said, " I'm looking for an Alexandra Roeseily?".
And everyone stare back at Alexandra.

OoC:Pretty sure it's more than 4 hours since the person after me posted.

He felt the whirling which he could never really get used to. He popped out at the Leaky Cauldron and greeted Tom. Tom was really friendly with him. "Hello Cameron. S'pose you got the letter today?"

Cameron smiled broadly and said,"Yeah. I'm so excited. I wonder what house I'm going to be in?" he ended, quite to himself. Tom reassured him and told him not to worry about it until he got there, which did relieve him quite a bit. His parents appeared seconds later and led him to the wall in the courtyard. They taped the brick and the archway dissolved to reveal the familiar Diagon Alley. They had to stop at Gringotts first.

Their vault, number 782, was one that was almost filled to the brim, but not with gold. Most of it was amazingly old family heirlooms. Most of the rest of the vault was filled with Galleons, the rest with Sickles. They kept all the Knuts at home, since most subscriptions utilised Knuts.

His pouch filled and jangling quite happily, he walked into Madam Malkins while his mother went to Florish And Blotts and his Father went to the Menagerie for some Owl Medicine. Nirvana was looking a bit under the weather. Madam Malkins greeted him warmly and said, "Alrgiht then,. stand on this chair and hold out your arms." He did so and several enchanted, flying, tape measures flew at him and started to check his measurements. Madam Malkin walked into the back when they were done and brought out some robes. Apart from the arm length, they were perfect.

"Alright then, hold still, I'm just checking the arm length." he stuck a pin through the sleeve and cut it with her wand. It took another minute and he was done. He walked out with the robes and then went to Ollivanders. He was hoping for a really good one. Ollivander smiled as he walked in and said, "I know exactly what you want."

He came back with a little black box and said, "Try it." He waved the wand and one of the vases on Ollivander's table levitated. He was happy with the wand and walked out. His parents had already finished the rest of the shopping and they went back home. There were only 5 days left now, he couldn't wait.

Jenny sat on her bed, staring down at a sheet of parchment, her light blond bangs partically obscuring her vision. Right there, in her hands, was the letter saying that she had been accepted into Hogwarts. Just like her two sisters, Jenny was going. She turned to the window, where her small brown owl was perched on the sill.

"I can't wait, Amaya," Jenny said to the owl, who hooted in reply. "Now Suuki and Athena can't rub it in their faces that they're in Hogwarts instead of me."

Amaya hooted against as Jenny crossed to the window. Jenny gazed out at the clear blue sky beyond the magic family's house, smiling to herself. She knew that Athena was likely to play tricks on her, but maybe they would be in different houses. After all, her two elder sisters were Gryffindors. And Jenny was definately not brave or chivalrous.

"I wonder which house I'll be in," she mumbled to herself, then crossing the room again, wandering out to the second-floor landing, and down to the kitchen. A note was floating in midair over a countertop - Jenny grabbed it and saw her mother's neat, loopy script.

    Dear Jenny,

We've gone to Diagon Alley already to buy Suuki and Athena's supplies. Since you were asleep, we thought it be best to leave you be. Just take the Floo Powder, okay?

    Mom

Jennifer left the note on the counter, and walked into the living room, stopped at the fireplace. She reached into the little cup that was in a holder on the fireplace. She got a handful of green powder, ducked her head, and stepped inside the fireplace. It was rather filthy. In a clear voice, the blond called out, "Diagon Alley!" and everything was spinning, spinning, spinning, until she appeared in the Leaky Cauldron, covered in ashes and soot.

A few days later Willow and her grandparents set off for London. "When we get there I'll see if I can find my old friend. He may be able to help us find this stuff..." her taid trailed off glacing at the long list of supplies needed. Her nain chuckled under her breath.

They stepped off the train and headed into the housing estate of London. Her taid knocked on the door of a house half way down a long street. "I need a favour," her taid said when the door opened to reveal a tall skinny man. "Willow's going to Hogwarts and we need to get the stuff." The tall man smiled as he pulled on his jacket without a word and led them back down the street towards the center of London.

Willow payed barely any attention to where they were being taken but she noticed the warm air meet her cold face as they stepped inside a crowded pub. Everyone looked different in a way that she couldn't pin point. They were led quickly through the pub to the back. Several of the people in the pub glanced at Willow and then said silent whispers to each other. It un-nerved her and so she ran to keep up with her granparents. Once they were out of the pub into the small area at the back Willow felt the cold breeze on her face. It felt and smelt much better than inside the smokey pub. The warm air had been a nice sensation and had warmed up her cheeks but the cold air kept her awake and alert.

Willow glanced back at the pub and then the wall that had been in front of them seemed to have dissapeared by the time she turned around again. "Woah," she muttered under her breath as she looked at all the people bubbly and bright walking around and shopping. The tall man ushered her the other side of the wall into the crowd of people and toward a large building in the distance.

"Willow going to Hogwarts. I never saw that coming," the man chuckled. "You don't remember me, do you Willow?" Willow shook her head as she was guided through various crowds. "I used to babysit you when you were younger." Willow just smiled in response, too amused with her surroundings to reply.

The sounds of footsteps were rebounding off the empty alley.
Alexandra was with Mr. Quimbly(just made it up), the wizard who had come to help her get ready for Hogwarts.
Mr. Quimbly explained everything to Alexandra's foster family and offered to take her to London to get her supplies.
After an hour of explanations, the Freeman family willingly agreed to let Alexandra go with him.
So the next day, after she packed some personal things, Alexandra and Mr. Quimbly left for London.
They traveled by broomstick and Alexandra found the experiance exhilarating and was sad for it to end.
Now they were in London heading down an empty alley way.
Mr. Quimbly stopped outside a weird looking door, opened it and motioned for Alexandra to follow him.
Inside was a creaky looking pub.
When Alexandra and Mr. Quimbly entered everyone looked up briefly, then went back to their buisness.
An old man came came up and greeted Quimbly.
"Ah, Quimbly. How are you doing today?" the man said.
"Oh, hello Tom. I'm fine, just helping a new student get ready for Hogwarts" Quimbly replied.
"Oh, Nice to meet you miss. If there's anything you need here at the Leaky Cauldren, just come ask old Tom, here. Okay?" Tom said.
Alexandra nodded yes, then Quimbly said; "Ok, Alexandra, time to go get your stuff".
The two then left and went to the back. Mr. Quimbly then did something special that Alexandra missed to the wall. It opened up and they walked through it.
On the other side was a wide street with lots of shops and people.
    Alexandra froze.
There was lot's and lot's of people.
Mr. Quimbly place a hand gently on Alexandra's shoulder, as he urged her foward.
She unwillingly followed him to one of the shops.
Inside there were lot's of thin, long boxes and a thin, frail looking man.
"Ah, can I help you Sir and Miss?" the man said.
Mr. Quimbly explained the situation and the man, whose name was Olivander, brought some more boxes.
Apparently, this was a wand shop and Alexandra spent a half hour waving wands.
They did nothing but cause trouble or nothing at all.
Finally, one did exactly what the two men were expecting and Olivander packaged it up.
They left soon after and continued shopping.
After an hour of shopping, they were finished, though Alexandra was a nervous wreck.
As they were heading back to the Leaky Cauldren, a cat ran out of a nearby shop.
It pounced by Quimbly and hid behind Alexandra.
Alexandra immediatly picked the cat up and it started to pur.
It was pur white, with boring blue eyes.
The owners came out of the shop and started to complain about the cat.
"What's the problem here?" Quimbly asked.
"That cats a menace! It keeps showing up and terrorizing our customers" The man shouted.
"Does it have an owner?" Quimbly inquired.
"Not to our knowledge" the woman replied.
"In that case, I believe this young lady would like to keep the cat" Quimbly said coolly.
    Alexandra's eyes lit up.
"I can keep it?" She asked excitedly.
"Yes, now let's go. We must be getting you a room now" Quimbly said as he led her back the pub.

Isabella and her mother held hands as her mother apparated to Diagon Alley. She had always loved the rushing sensation as they went soaring. It was the one thing she loved most about being magical, the hope that one day she would be able to soar just like that.

When they arrived at The Leaky Cauldron all of Isabella's worry went away. They touched the brick together and she felt glad that finally she could be what her mother wanted her to be. She could protect herself now, that much she knew. So when they walked in to Ollivander's to get her wand, Isabella felt happy and beautiful inside, she knew she could get the perfect wand.

"Aaah... Selena. Glad to see that your daughter has finally come of age, Bella, correct?" Ollivander said curiously. Everyone knew the story of Ollivander, how he was held captive during the dark ages. He had changed, become more mysterious. But Bella liked the elderly man very much and hoped that he would give her a great wand.

"Well, I know exactly what wand you need," Ollivander said and he brought a box that was a shiny mahogany. When he opened it a beautiful wand was revealed. It's smooth surface was dazzling and Isabella immediately fell in love. She picked up the wand and flicked it just a little and a box slid out of the pile of boxes in the corner. The box fell to the floor and Isabella was delighted with her progress.

"Very interesting..." Ollivander said with a sigh and walked away, leaving Bella and her mother to exit and go to Madame Malkin's

Lupa grabbed a handful of floo powder in her hands, before throwing it into the fire. "Diagon Alley!" She called clearly. She had gotten dressed as fast as possible, before nagging her mum to take her to Diagon Alley. Finally, when her mother, who had already gone through the floo, was ready Lupa had grinned with excitement.
She stumbled out of the fireplace at the leaky cauldron, landing in her mothers arms.
"Careful," Her mum laughed. "Don't kill yourself before you even get there." Lupa rolled her eyes.
"I'm fine. Let's go!" She grabbed hold of her mum's arm and dragged her out to the brick wall. Lupa watched as her mum touched the brick, and they opened up, revealing the street behind them. She watched the multitude of shoppers hurrying around.
"Wand first." Lupa grinned, practically skipping off to Ollivanders. As they got to the shop, another girl and her mother were just coming out. Lupa smiled shyly at the girl as she came out of the shop. Lupa walked in after the girl had gone, her mother rolling her eyes behind her.
"Miss Lucretia... You're finally of age to go to Hogwarts, correct?" Ollivander asked as she shrunk back slightly. Lupa nodded slightly. Ollivander nodded, picking up a tape measure. "WE'll just measure you, then we'll find you a wand." He explained as the tape measure flew towards her, calculating the length of her arms, legs, height and anything else. "...It's curious... I have the perfect wand for you..." He hurried to the back of teh shop, pulling out a wand from the very bottom and somhow not causing an avalanche.
"Try... this one." Her opened the box and handed her the wand. She glanced at her mother, who was watching silently. "Give it a flick then," Ollivander's voice mad her jump, and she flicked the wand quickly. Silver sparks flew from the end and Lupa watched in amazment. "...Like I said, Curious." Ollivander cocked his head. "As that Wand's core is a Werewolf Hair..." Lupa turned pale.

He didn't much feel like going home yet, so Cameron decided to stay in Diagon Alley for a bit and get himself some extra things. His parents took everything home with them and gave him a handful of Floo Powder. He stopped by Florean Fortesque's first. It was now run by his daughter, Valerie Fortesque, after Florean's disappearance under mysterious circumstances a few years ago. He knew Valerie as a family friend and they greeted each other before he got himself a Dumble Sundae, one of the many things that had been named after Albus Dumbledore. It was a huge sundae that melted in your mouth faster than ice in Fiendfyre.

He was also using this opportunity to see other Hogwarts students. They were obvious among the crowd and he noticed a very particular one, one that had gone straight for her wand. Something seemed to strike him as strange about her, but he felt it impolite to say anything just yet. He gulped down the last of the sundae, not feeling the least bit full, as was one of the amazing features of the item. He sighed as he walked back to the Leaky Cauldron and said, "Grant residence, the Evanescent Garden." He whirled around in the network connection to his house and landed, a bit dirty with soot, but still very excited about Hogwarts.

After seeing several other people pass out of the fireplace after her, Jenny walked out of the Leaky Cauldron and paused at a brick wall. She did not have a wand to get through. She sighed through the corner of her mouth, and her bangs floated away from her face a bit.

    "Jennifer!"

Jenny turned around and saw Suuki running out of the Leaky Cauldron, her shoulder-length, wavy-blond hair flying about, wand in hand. Once the two were in front of the wall, Suuki spoke.

"Jenny, I was waiting for you for at least an hour, until I had to go to the bathroom. Then when I went back over to the fireplace, you weren't there, so I came out here and there you were..."

"Can you just open up the wall, or whatever?" Jenny sighed, her bangs floating momentarily again. Suuki tapped her wand at different places on the wall, which formed into a tall brich archway. The sisters walked into Diagon Alley, which was full of shoppers, some who stared at Jenny as she passed. Jenny then realized she was still covered in ashes and soot. She quickly brushed it off of her navy-and-teal-striped sweater and her jeans and her long blond hair. She could pass off as a Muggle if it wasn't for the fact she was in Diagon Alley.

"Where to first?" Suuki asked. Jenny consulted her list.

"Might as well go in chronological order," she said. "So, I guess a trip to Madame Malkin's is a necessity."

"Since when did you become a user of big words?" Suuki teased. The two entered the robes shop, and Madame Malkin was busy tailoring a fourteen-year-old's robes.

"Hello!" Madame Malkin called. "Hold on a minute, I'm busy fixing up your sister."

Once the tailoring was done, the fourteen-year-old with dark, auburn-red hair hopped off the stool and smiled. Athena.

"Go ahead, ickly wickly Jenny-boo-bear," Athena teased, and her and Suuki ran off into the crowded alley.

"Just hop up on the stool so I can measure you." Jenny did as she was told by Madame Malkin and the magic tape measure took the measurements. Madame Malkin went into the back of the robes shop, and came back with black robes. Jenny tried them on, and they fit perfectly. Jenny walked nextdoor into Flourish and Blotts, again consulting her list.

She got The Standard Book of Spells (Grade 1), A History of Magic, Magical Theory, A Beginners' Guide to Transfiguration, One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi, Magical Drafts and Potions, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection. She was going to wait to buy the rest until she met up with the rest of her family at Florean Fortesque's Ice Cream Parlor.

Madame Malkin was an interesting woman, very kind and thoughtful but also tough. When Bella walked into the store with her mom, she immediately knew that the woman meant business, so she stood next to her without a word. When the magical tape measurers started to fly around Bella she smiled, she had forgotten how much she loved magic. Since her father left she had forced herself to hate magic, forced herself to hate everything she loved. But as soon as she saw it all again, all the magic, her head was spinning. She truly loved all of it, it was the only thing in her life she loved more than her mother. So as the tape continued to size her up she smiled and knew that everything would turn out OK.

"Great, here ya go," Madame Malkins said cheerfully and handed Bella a pile of robes. Her mom smiled gleefully and the two headed to Flourish and Blotts and the Magical Menagerie as Bella's mother continued to try and convince her to get an owl. Bella relented finally but swore she would only get an owl to use for emergencies. So the duo walked into the Menagerie with Bella dead set on not finding a good enough owl.

"Look Bella, here's a cute barn owl," Her mother said hopefully. Bella shook her head and continued further to the back of the store. Then she saw her. The perfect owl. It was a tiny black owl with yellow eyes and it squeaked quietly as Bella walked towards it. She smiled, it was the perfect owl and she immediately fell in love with it.

"Mum, look at this one!" she exclaimed and her mother walked over.

"Oh, Bella are you sure? It's just so...small and dark," her mother said nervously. Bella shook her head fiercely, "It's perfect," she said in a near whisper and the matter was settled. They bought the owl and left to return home.

When Eva has received the letter, she almost jumped for joy. It was one of her biggest dreams to go to Hogwarts, and hopefully be in the same house all her brothers were in. They called her a true Gryffindor, one who was very brave and altruistic. Little Eva wasn't sure about that at the time.

She remembered reading the paper, with the fancy handwriting in a brown ink. It was a shiny brown, that glimmered in the light. The Headmistress herself had signed it, which was something that excited Eva.

"Dear Miss Mandela," she had said, reading the letter aloud. "We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Enclosed is a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on the 1st of September. We await your owl no later than the 31st of July."

She had paused to take a deep breath, before continuing in a clear voice that was shaking with excitement, and anxiety.

"Yours sincerely, Minerva McGonagall. Headmistress." Once finished, she called for her mother, completely hyped. "Mom!! I got accepted into Hogwarts!"

    *

"Theo, what else is on the list besides the spellbooks and cauldrons and robes? We already have all those. Mom bought them a while back." Eva asked, once they reached Diagon Alley, one of Eva's favorite places to go.

It was always full of people, most of whom she knew. She and her family visited often, and most people knew her family because of how many people were in it, and how many times they had to go buy supplies.

"You need a wand and a pet, I believe." Theodore replied, smiling at her through his glasses.

Theo was the eldest brother of the family, and probably the most respected as well. He was always kind, he was very smart, and he absolutely adored his younger sister. He worked at the Ministry, but visited home often.

"Let's get the wand first, 'kay?" she asked. “Mr. Ollivander’s shop is closest.”

“That’s fine with me.” Theodore confirmed, taking his sister’s hand and walking towards the wandshop.

The wandshop was a lovely place, a very antique store. Boxes of wants were piled everywhere, and boxes of empty wands were everywhere too. When Eva and Theodore walked in, Olllivander smiled his odd little smile, and welcomed them.

“Little Miss Mandela, here to get your wand?” he asked.

She nodded enthusiastically. Ollivander chuckled, and came forward to measure her right arm, as she was right handed. Once finished, he took out a couple different wands and gave them to her to try. The first one didn’t work, and neither did the second. The third and fourth were also not very good. But when they came to the fifth, Eva knew that this was the one. It was made of Holly, and a unicorn hair. Exactly 7 inches. It was perfect. When she flicked it, the dead flowers in Ollivander’s vase sprung to life.

“Very good, very good.” he laughed, clapping his hands together. “This wand is very good when it comes to Charms, so you’ll be sure to excel in that subject.”

Theodore paid for the wand, and then they left the store after waving goodbye to the elderly man. Once inside the petshop, Eva ran around looking at all the different owls. She was hoping for one different than those of her brothers and parents. They had just about every type of owl, except one.

“Doesn’t Ollivander scare you a bit Eva?” asked Theo while he looked around at the owls.

“Not at all, I find he’s quite a nice man.” Eva replied, and the picked up an owl which had perched itself on her hand. “I fond my owl.”

It was a beautiful creamy colored barn owl, with brown around the face and on the wings. Eva smiled, and named the male owl Jules. Theo bought it, and then the two headed to Gringotts, where they got money, and then finally they headed to the Leaky Cauldron to get some food. After all that, they went home.

After ice cream, the family bought everything but the wand. Jenny would be using Suuki and Athena's old owl, Fluffy. It wasn't new, but at least Fluffy and Jenny bonded.

Athena led Jennifer down the street to where Ollivander's was. The small shop had shelves lined with boxes and boxes of wands; Jenny was excited to finally get one.

"Ahh, Miss Athena Hayashi," the elderly wizard, Ollivander, said. "I remember giving you your wand like it was yesterday. 11 and a half inches, Yew, Unicorn Hair, correct?"

"Correct," Athena smiled. "This is Jenny, she's here to get her wand."

"Ahh. Are you right-handed or left-handed?" Ollivander asked.

    "Right-handed," answered Jenny.

Ollivander disappeared amongst the shelves and soon came back with a little box. He opened it and gave the wand (9 inches, Willow, Phoenix Feather) to Jenny. She waved it. Nothing happened. On the third wand, a box on the shelf floated into the air, then back onto the shelf.

Jenny felt right while holding that 12-inch wand, made of Holly with Dragon Heartstring in it. She stowed the wand in her cloak and followed her sister down the street, through the brick archway, and into the Leaky Cauldron.

"Mom and Suuki are already home, see," explained Athena as they came to the fireplace. "So let's go. Onward and forward."

Jennifer grabbed a handful of Floo Powder from Athena (who was carrying some in a pouch tied to her waist [her mother made her do it]) and stepped into the fire, gripping her cauldron so tight her knuckles turned white. In a clear voice she called out "Hayashi Cottage!" and her and the cauldron were spinning. She, if possible, tightened her grip, and slid onto the rug in the living room of her house.

Lupa glanced slightly sadly at the Magical Menagerie as they passed it. She would have loved to have an owl, but none would even come near her willingly. She looked forward again as her mother steered her towards Florish and Blotts, and her eyes widened slightly at the mountains of books.
"...I want the shop." She said to her mum with a smile. She darted around the shelves, easily finding all of her books. With her enhanced senses, she found it easy to focus on the names of books from across the room. Soon, she came out of the shop with a pile of books, some not even in the school curriculum.

Finally, she had gathered all of the needed equipment, although she had felt faint when she had gone into the Apothecary, as all the smells assulted her nose. She tumbled out of the fireplace in the kitchen, the books cusioning her fall. "Ow..." She moaned as he mother stepped out of the flames.
"Careful, Lupa." Her mother laughed slightly as she dropped the books onto the table. "Go and put this stuff in your room, and I'll start on dinner. Go, Shoo." Lupa giggled as she grabbed the bags and parcels, balencing them on top of one another as she carried it all up the stairs.

The rest of the day went by in a stupor for Cameron. The euphoria of Diagon Alley had passed amazingly quickly and now, he had no intention of waiting for 5 whole days without doing nothing. He sent Nirvana to a friend of his, asking her if she wanted to come by his place, just to keep them both busy. He hoped to get an answer early, since she didn't live too far away. He watched Nirvana out the window and ssat in bed, reading up on the Standard Book of Spells. At some point, his mother came in and said, "Cam," he hated that nickname, "I have something for you." She pulled out a suspicious notebook.

"Mother, what is that?" He knew of books that could get people into trouble, since Harry Potter's adventures were well documented and he remembered the stories of the Chamber of Secrets and the Half-Blood Prince, two of the 7 best-selling books documenting his years fighting Voldemort. Books that you did not know the origin of were generally bad.

"This," she said, "is a book that I wroted in my Hogwarts years. These are highly advanced spells that I think you might find helpful in your school career. Make good use of them son." He took the book with eyes that shone with happiness.

    "Thanks mother."

Willow's grandfather's friend, Peter, exchanged money with her taid so that she had the right money to buy everything she needed and more for the future. They moved her money from Peter's vault to her own vault and she was given the key.

Within an hour or two they had collected everything they needed for her first year at Hogwarts. Willow was most fascinated with the brown tawny owl they had bought for her, Prydwen. Her grandparents and Peter insisted on carrying her stuff but she plain refused to let them carry the cage for her owl. She smiled as they went back through the wall to the strange pub.

Peter stopped just outside of the pub and seemed to be thinking about something. "She'll need to be in London to catch the train in a couple of days time. She can stay with me if you want. I can explain a few things to her and help her before she leaves and it will save you a trip down here again." Peter said after a moment.

"Well really it's up to Willow," her nain pointed out. Willow nodded stating that she would stay with Peter. "Okay then, we'll miss you Willow!" Her nain passed the bags she had been carrying to Peter and gave her a hug. Her taid did the same only gave the bags to Willow.

"We'll see you at the end of the year," they said as they began to head back to the train station to go home. Willow smiled at them and then at Peter.

"Come on then. I have a large suitcase at home that I used when I went to Hogwarts. You're welcome to it," he said as they headed down the street back to his house.

    *

Back at the house Peter had helped Willow pack all her things neatly into the large suitcase. Prydwen's cage stood on the windowsill and she stared out of the window intent on being set free for a little while. Willow's wand was set near the cage ready for her to put in her pocket on the day she left.

As they closed the suitcase and lugged it down the stairs Peter began explaining things like the houses and points. Willow became very excited with every word.

"Cam, let's go." Cam was being shepherded through the station. He looked at the clock.

"Mother, we're half an hour early. There'll be nobody else there!" his mother went with him through the barrier, since his father was at work. He was greeted by the soun of owls hooting and a lot of voices. "Alright, I was wrong," he admitted glumly. He steered his trolley to the luggage compartment and he just had his wand and a sack of money. He didn't know anyone here, except Eleanor, but she wasn't here yet. She had not been available to go to his house when he sent Nirvana, since she had not been in England at the time.

"Alright Cam, would you like to board and find a compartment now?" he nodded and jumped onto the train. He was so excited, but he was also rather nervous. He found himself a compartment near the middle and sat there, practising a spell from the book, called Protego. he knew it would do nothing, since he wasn't fighting anyone, but it was still worth a shot. A few minutes later, the platform became more active, but nobody had entered his compartment. His last thought was of what Hogwarts would look like, before he dozed off.

Lupa turned red as muggles surrounding her stared at the trolley she was pushing. She was definately attracting more attention than she wanted, what with pushing a large trunk in front of her.
"Muuuum..." She moaned lightly as she hid her face. "Hurry up." Her mother laughed and sped up to walk next to Lupa.
"Just run through that wall." Her mother instructed, with Lupa obeying instantly, if only to get away from the muggles.
As she ran into the solid brick wall, she braced herself before opening her eyes to see the magnificent red train in front of her, behind the crowds of students.. "...Awesome..." She grinned, before turning as her mother walked through the barrier.
"Have fun, Lupa. I need to get to the Ministry." She kissed Lupa's head lightly, before heading back through teh barrier with a last look back.
Lupa turned to face the train, picking up her reletively light trunk as she did so. She dragged it onto the train, before heading to one of the empty compartments at the back. She pushed her trunk onto the shelf above the seats, before sitting down and staring out the window at the children with their families. She dragged her eyes away from a irl who was saying goodbye to her father, and Lupa couldn't help imagine her own father for a moment.

Isabella was astounded and amazed by all of the bustle that surrounded the trains. Gripping her mother's hand tightly, she looked to her father as he deftly navigated the crowds. When they arrived at platform nine, fear filled Isabella. She remembered her mum talking about the pillar that you must run through to get onto the train and part of her wondered if she could really do it. But she took a deep breath and exhaled sharply as she ran directly at the pillar. She reached the pillar and thought that she was going to crash but instead found herself in another crowd. Only in this crowd owl cages were common and there were many people with carts just like hers. She looked at her mum and smiled, everything looked perfect.

"Don't forget to write and tell us what house you got in. And if you want you can come home for Christmas, but only if you want to," Bella's mother said and kissed her on the head. Her father roped her into a hug before Bella carefully went up the steps onto the train. She quickly found an empty seat and sat down and awaited someone to sit next to her, she couldn't wait to talk about houses and everything about Hogwarts.

"Hurry up now, Alexandra" Quimbly called.
Alexandra was barely keeping up. Quimbly had her push her own trolley and with her being so tiny, she was struggling to push the cart.
"I-I-I'm trying to" She huffed out.
    Quimby turned around and smiled.
"Don't worry, we're there" He replied.
"We're where, exactly?" Alexandra asked, "We're supposed to go to a platform that doesn't seem to exist".
"*chuckles* Actually, it's right there and it does indeed exist" Quimbly said, pointing towards the wall.
    Alexandra looked in disbelief.
"It's an invisable barrier, so muggles can't get in" Quimbly explained, "Here, I'll go with you your first time".
"What! You mean we're going through the wall?" Alexandra questioned, again in disbelief.
"Yep. Come on" Quimbly said, stepping behind Alexandra and starting to run towards the wall.
"Wait! Stop! I-" Alexandra tried to say, but was cut off when they ran into the wall.
    Or rather, through it.
When they arrived on platform 9 & 3/4, Alexandra wasn't to sure what amazed her more.
The walking through walls, or the brilliant train.
    "Wow!......" was all she said.
"Yea, got me my first time too" Quimbly said, looking at the train, "Well, let's get you on board".
They went through the train, looking for space. They finally found an empty compartment and got all her stuff loaded.
"Alright, Alexandra, it was great to meet you and I'm happy to have helped you get ready for your first year at Hogwarts, Bye" Quimbly said, leaving Alexandra sitting with her ca on her lap.
"Bye Mr. Quimbly" Alexandra said as he left.
For awhile, Alexandra was by herself for a long time. She just sat there, talking with her cat.
But, then some other girls came.
They were all different ages, but they all knew each other and they filled the compartment.
Alexandra stiffened up and quickly left the compartment, with her cat. The girls were all staring at her.
She made her way through the train, dodging the multitudes of people.
She finall found an empty compartment.
Or rather, it only had one occupant.
He was asleep though, with a book open on his lap.
Alexandra quietly slid the door open and put her head through.
"Excuse me......." She said quietly, " Excuse me!"
The boy shot his head up and looked to the door.
    "Yes?" He asked groggily.
"I was wondering if you would mind if I sit in here. Everywhere else is pretty much full" Alexandra said, her voice lowering again.
"Umm, sure" he said, rubbing his eyes.
So Alexandra went and sat opposite of him. She tried to sink into the seat, to try and make herself smaller.
Winter, her cat, not wanting to be confined in her owners arms anymore, lept to the luggage rack and began to wash herself.

He was glad that someone had woken him up. He dreamt that he had missed the stop and was being sent home, before term had even begun. He yawned quite loudly. Then, he whipped out his wand and tried the Protego charm again. "Pointless," he muttere to himself, "Nobody's trying to jinx me." At that moment, someone walked into the compartment.

"Buy anything for the trip? Chocolate Frogs, Bertie Bott's beans, you name it, I've got it." It was some 6th year Gryffindor by the looks of it.

"And I could probably buy it from the Lunch Trolley for much cheaper thanks." But his stomach growled. He looked down at it as if to hush it up and then said, "Fine, let's see them." he picked out 6 cauldron cakes, 4 chocolate frogs and two packs of Bertie Bott's Beans. He dropped half onto the empty seat next to the girl who had just walked in and said, "Hello, I haven't got your name yet. Mine's Cameron, nice to meet you." He stuck out his hand and waited for a response.
